SUNRISE - SUNSET

stillness at sunrise -
a crow landing on a branch
sets off the wind-chimes

early morning sun -
a gentle breeze and birdsong,
the smell of wet grass

green fields at sunrise
a spattering of yellow -
tiny buttercups

sunset at the pier
just the creaking of timbers -
wind in the rigging

late evening sunshine
the shadow of the boathouse
crosses the canal

sunset on the links
long shadows following us
to the nineteenth hole

Now, here's something different - I like these.

How odd
Of God
To choose
The Jews   (William Norman Ewer)

But not so odd
As those who choose
A Jewish God
But spurn the Jews  (Cecil Browne)

Finally, you might be interested in a new website which I’m preparing. It begins appropriately on Hallowe’en 31st October -
